Me

I'm a thirty-something, born in the Midwest and currently living out East with my husband and kids- in the 5th state we've lived in since being married.  We're always busy, between work, school and the kids' activities, but I'm enjoying the chaos.  Most days.  I think my blog picture explains it best: Wrong Turn Ok.  Because really, how often does life turn out like you thought it would?

I love working out.  I used to be a swimmer, but as I've gotten older I now consider myself a runner.  I started biking a few months ago and think it might be my new workout addiction.  I really like crocheting because I'm not coordinated enough to knit, and if you hang around here long enough, you'll see some pictures of my projects.

My favorite season is fall- I love the crisp air, changing leaves, and how everything starts over.  Most people think of spring as a new beginning, but I think it really is fall, because that's when everything starts all over again.  A new school year, a new fiscal year, a new year of sports and activities.  I love being able to pull out the blankets and sweaters, bake bread and eat it with yummy stews and thick soups. I love the cool evenings, such a relief after the long, hot summer.  It's families coming back together after being scattered all summer, spending nights together inside rather than out.  Fall is also the beginning of the holiday season- all the kids' birthdays are in the fall, there are school holidays, Halloween and Thanksgiving.  And, of course, it also means football season.

A few other random things.  I hate being late- I think it's rude and disrespectful.  I dislike lazy people.  I tend to lose my temper and yell at my kids more than I want to.  I like coffee, tea and wine.  I love a good thunderstorm.  And finally, I'm pretty sure that I became solar powered while living out West, so this living on the East coast thing has significatly upped my caffeine intake.
